India witnessed massive transformation in last 10 years: Jyotiraditya Scindia at News9 Global Summit

Stuttgart: Union Minister for Communications and DoNER Jyotiraditya Scindia addressed Day 2 of News9 Global Summit in Stuttgart, Germany on Friday. The minister spoke on the topic ‘ India: The Biggest Turnaround Story’.  The summit is being spearheaded by TV9 Network, India’s leading news powerhouse. The event is also co-hosted by Bundesliga’s VfB Stuttgart. The theme of the summit is “India and Germany: A Roadmap for Sustainable Growth”.

During his address, the minister said, “India has witnessed a massive transformative journey under PM Modi for last ten years. It has graduated from Asia Pacific to the Indo-Pacific. This speaks volume of India’s growth. Under the direction of PM Modi, India has surged to new heights. Suffice it to say, it has been a 180-degree turn in development of the country, since he took over as PM.” The minister while noting that India has not only transformed itself, but has transformed itself in both scale and speed.

India has become far more consequential: Scindia

“India has become far more consequential in the last 10 years. When we talk about the concept of speed. It is the amount of distance covered in a period. Today Indian companies, Indian brands have reached new heights. The supply chain has extended across the globe,” the minister added. Talking about India’s growth further, Scindia pointed out that India is not only close to 4 trillion economy but is set to become fourth largest economy, and will reach the third largest economy by 2027.

‘Growth not only about numbers’

“Growth is not only about numbers. It is about targeting welfare schemes, which have helped in transforming lives in India. The empowerment of our people has also helping to transform our continent. In the last 10 years, we have built in 10 million houses. Over 120 million toilets across the country have also been built during the same time. India’s economy, welfare programmes have all been moved to a digital system,” he added.

The three-day summit is being held at the famous MHP Arena in the city. A hold lot of dignitaries participated at the event from both countries. Apart from Scindia, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, top leaders of the business community and from other fields have graced the occasion.
