Young opener Shefali Verma returned to the pavilion after scoring 7 runs. After this, Smriti Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues batted brilliantly. There was a partnership of 121 runs in 82 balls between the two for the second wicket. Smriti scored 82 runs in 55 balls and Jemimah was out after scoring 59 runs in 46 balls. After this the visiting team lost its wickets quickly. However, India Women managed to score 176 runs by losing 6 wickets in 20 overs.
Australia Women, who came to chase the target of 177 runs in the second innings, had a very bad start. The team had lost its 3 important wickets on the total score of 32 runs. After this Phoebe Litchfield and Ashley Gardner tried to handle the innings to some extent. But, Lichfield also returned to the pavilion on the team score of 63.
