India vs New Zealand, 1st ODI: The Indian team won the first match of the three-match ODI series being played between India and New Zealand. The Indian team has taken a 1-0 lead in the ODI series by defeating New Zealand by 4 wickets. Batting first, New Zealand team scored 300 runs at the loss of 8 wickets in 50 overs. In reply, the Indian team won in 49 overs. KL Rahul became the trouble-shooter and led the Indian team to victory by hitting a six.
After losing the toss and coming to bat first, the New Zealand team made a great start. Devon Conway and Henry Nicholls made a partnership of 117 runs for the first wicket. Both of them troubled the Indian bowlers a lot in the beginning. Both the batsmen completed their half-centuries. However, Henry Nicholls was out on a personal score of 62. After that Devon Conway also got out after scoring 56 runs.
Brilliant innings by Daryl Mitchell
Daryl Mitchell completed his half-century amidst continuous falling of wickets. After this, Michael Bracewell scored 16 runs and debutant Christian Clarke scored 24 not out. After this, while trying to score runs quickly, Mitchell was out on a personal score of 84. New Zealand team scored 300 runs at the loss of 8 wickets in 50 overs. Century partnership between Virat and Gill
