Bene: Perceptions about the armed forces deployed here in the remote villages of Arunachal Pradesh have started changing. For the local tribal people living in these villages who were once afraid of the armed forces, the Indian Army has now become synonymous with hope and faith. All this was possible due to the continuous philanthropic efforts made by the Indian Army.
Under 'Operation Sadbhavana', the Army personnel are not only contributing in the construction of school buildings, providing healthcare and developing sports infrastructure but are also engaged in addressing the concerns of the local people.

In many remote villages of the state, Indian Army soldiers are not only deployed for the security of the borders but are also continuously working for the welfare of the people here. Due to his philanthropic work, many difficulties in the daily life of rural people are becoming easier. Not only this, the rural people themselves now come forward and inform the army about their problems and the army also comes true to their aspirations.
Flooding was done in the school for the safety of children
Recently, the Army has erected a fence around a government school in Bene village of West Siang district of the state, more than 300 kilometers from the capital Itanagar. The Army has done this keeping in mind the safety of 50 children studying in that school. In this regard, Principal of Government Higher Primary School, Tumto Ate said, “We get continuous support from the Army. “The army recently put up a fence around the school.” After this effort of the army, the school administration has also requested them to adopt the school. The school principal said that the school has eight rooms, smart classrooms and an alumni association.

Similarly, the Eastern Command of the Army has also constructed a community center in nearby Daraka village of the district on the request of local villagers. The Army has also gifted swings to several government schools and erected a fence around one school for safety. Mobi Ate, a teacher at the government primary school in Darka village, said that the Army has provided swings, slides and other sports related equipment for the students. “We have also asked them to repair the roof of the school building,” he said.

Compost fertilizer machine installed
An army officer said that a bridge has also been constructed in Doji colony of Darka, while a compost fertilizer machine has been installed in another village. Not only this, to promote tourism in the remote village, the Army has also organized a 15-day hospitality certificate program for the sole 'homestay' owner. Along with border security, the efforts being made by the Army for the welfare of the people of these villages adjacent to the borders are really praiseworthy.
