More than 1,100 guests attended the seven-day wedding of an Indian billionaire couple at a resort, entertainment, and convention complex on Phu Quoc Island in southern Vietnam.

But the couple did not want their identities disclosed.

A spokesperson for the An Giang Province Department of Tourism said Sunday that the entire complex on the northern tip of the island was hired for a week for the wedding.

The festivities took place in five separate places, each with its own theme, and organizers estimate more than US$2 million was spent on the setup and decorations alone.

Guests arrived on four round-trip charter flights and eight private jets were reserved for the family and VIPs, including high-ranking officials and fellow billionaires.

Around 40 A list performers were invited to deliver private shows.

Last year another Indian couple rented an entire five-star resort for four days in the most expensive area of Phu Quoc for a wedding with 350 guests.

Phu Quoc received nearly 7.6 million tourists, including 1.6 million foreigners, in the first 11 months of this year, up 35% year-on-year and surpassing the full-year’s target.
