Indian climber Bhupatiraju: Indian mountaineer Bhupathiraju set a new world record by climbing the world’s seven highest volcanic peaks. With this, mountaineer Bhupathiraju created history. Bhupathiraju Anmish Verma created a new world record by conquering the world’s seven highest volcanic peaks in just 92 days, 4 hours and 45 minutes. This achievement was officially confirmed on 6 February 2026 and recognized on 27 February 2026. After this courageous act of Bhupathiraju, he has earned fame all over the world and has also got his name registered in the Guinness Book.

Anmish Verma started his historic journey from Mount Elbrus, Russia on 23 October 2024. After this he crossed dangerous and difficult volcanic peaks located in different continents and finally completed this mission by reaching Mount Sidley in Antarctica on 23 January 2025. The journey was extremely difficult, involving many challenges such as snow storms, altitude and bad weather.

A special awards ceremony was organized at CSOI, Vinay Marg, Delhi on 17 March. Bhupathiraju was given his certificate at the same ceremony. Rishi Nath of the Guinness World Records team formally honored Bhupathiraju. The event caught the attention of people across the world and proved that Indians are increasingly interested in adventure sports.
