Indian coach opens up on batting position of Rohit Sharma for Pink-Ball Test in Adelaide

After the birth of his second child, Indian captain Rohit Sharma was on a paternity leave and missed the opening Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. In his absence, India’s opening pair of KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal made wonders as they led the visitors to a stunning 295 run victory.

Now a lot of cricket experts have been assuming that the Indian management should continue to let both of the players to open for the rest of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Before the Prime Minister’s XI game, Indian assistant coach Abhishek Nayar stated the batting position of Rohit Sharma, and stated that it is too early for them to think about it.

It’s too early for us to think about that. We are just going to try and take this game and see how it goes. And then maybe come up with plans once we reach Adelaide,” said Abhishek Nayar.

The first ever partnership for a double century by an opening pair in Australia was recorded by Indian openers KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal. They made a partnership of 201 runs during the second inning of the first Test between India and Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.
