Earlier today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had inaugurated ‘Keynes Semiconductor OSAT Facility Plant’ in Sanand. Before the inauguration, the Prime Minister had toured the entire Kaynes Technology plant and got interesting information about the semiconductor production process. Production has started at Cannes Semicon plant from today.

At the beginning of his address, the Prime Minister said, I was in Sanand on the last date of last month and I am here in Sanand on the last date of this month also. It is noteworthy that production started at Micron’s plant on February 28 in the presence of the Prime Minister. Whereas today, on March 31, production has started in the Keynes plant in the presence of the PM. Narendra Modi said that this shows how fast India is moving towards the production of semiconductor chips.

Taking a sip, he said, this morning I was in a spiritual program and now I am in a digital program.

Before the ceremony, the Prime Minister also interacted with the young employees working at the Keynes plant. During the ceremony, a short film about the importance of semiconductor and the progress of Keynes was shown.

Keynes Semicon CEO K. Raghunathan Panikaran said in his speech that, due to the vision of the Prime Minister and the concerted efforts of IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, India is progressing rapidly in the semiconductor production sector today.

IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that from the foundation stone laying ceremony of this plant till today the commercial production has started, it is only a period of 14 months. This has become possible only because of the visionary leadership of the Prime Minister. He also congratulated the Chief Minister of Gujarat for taking quick decisions.

The Union Minister said that today in India, 60,000 students are designing chips along with studying engineering and the chips prepared by these students are also being commercially produced.
