Sports News. Indian cricket star Rinku Singh is going to marry Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Priya Saroj. This has been confirmed by his family. Priya's father, Toofani Saroj, SP MLA from Kerakat, said that on January 16, there was a meaningful discussion between Rinku's father and his family in Aligarh. After this, mutual agreement was reached on marriage.
Ring ceremony or pre-wedding event did not take place
Toofani Saroj told PTI that no ring ceremony or pre-wedding event has taken place yet. He told that Priya met Rinku Singh through a common friend. His father is also a cricketer. He said that Rinku and Priya knew each other for a year and they both liked each other. However, they needed the approval of their families. Now both the families have accepted it for marriage.
Have become regular members of the team
Saroj's father confirmed that the engagement and wedding dates would be decided after the Parliament session. The engagement is planned to take place in Lucknow. Rinku Singh got wide recognition during IPL 2023. When he hit five sixes in one over of Gujarat Titans fast bowler Yash Dayal. With this, KKR got a thrilling victory in the last over. He was also a part of the KKR team that won IPL 2024 and has since become a regular member of India's T20I team.

Saroj's father insisted that the wedding functions would be organized in such a way that Rinku's cricket commitments would not be disrupted. Both the families met at Rinku Singh's residence in Ozone City, Aligarh, where they finalized the marriage with the exchange of 'shagun' and gifts.
Priya Saroj is a resident of Varanasi.
Priya Saroj, resident of Karkhiyaanv village of Varanasi, has been a prominent member of Samajwadi Party (SP) for many years. She was elected to the Lok Sabha in 2024 from Machhilishahr constituency of Jaunpur district. Priya, a former Supreme Court lawyer, first gained attention during her father's campaign for the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. He holds an Arts degree from Delhi University and a Law degree from Amity University, Noida.
