Indian girl Himanshi Khurana murdered, boyfriend absconding… big search by police!
The murder of an Indian origin woman in Canada has shaken everyone. 30-year-old Himanshi Khurana, living in Toronto city of Ontario province, suddenly went missing on Friday night. The police received his missing report at around 10.40 pm. The police remained busy throughout the night in the search operation to find Himanshi. Then on Saturday morning at around 6.30 am, his body was recovered from a house in the Queen West area of the city.
Police suspect boyfriend
Police have started investigation considering Himanshi’s death as murder. The main suspect is 32-year-old Abdul Ghafoori, who is a resident of Toronto and is said to be Himanshi’s boyfriend. Ghafoori is absconding and the police is busy arresting him. Toronto Police have intensified the investigation and are appealing to the public to share if they have any information about Ghafoori. An alert has been issued across Canada for his arrest.
Suspicion of domestic violence
Police believe that this could be a case of domestic violence. The investigation is revealing that Ghafoori might have murdered Himanshi for this very reason.
Indian Embassy expressed grief
After the murder of Himanshi, the Indian Consulate General in Canada has also reacted. A statement issued by the Embassy said, “We are deeply saddened and shocked by the murder of Indian citizen Himanshi Khurana in Toronto. We express our deepest condolences to her family in this hour of grief. The Embassy has been associated with this case for the last few days and is providing all possible assistance to the family in collaboration with the local authorities.”
