Indian hockey team announced, Harmanpreet Singh will be the captain, the tournament will start in Japan from September 19.
Digital Desk, Bhopal. Hockey India on Wednesday announced the team for the 20th Asian Games to be held in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. Star defender and drag-flicker Harmanpreet Singh will lead the Indian team in this tournament to be played from 19 September to 4 October.
India won the gold medal in the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games under the captaincy of Harmanpreet. In such a situation, this time the team will emerge as the defending champion.

Indian team schedule
Hockey teams from a total of 12 countries will participate in the Asian Games tournament. 6 teams each are divided into two pools. The Indian team is in Pool-A. In this pool it has Japan, South Korea, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Indonesia. All matches of the tournament will be played at the Gifu Prefectural Green Stadium in Kakamigahara.

Indian squad
Mohit HS and Suraj Karkera will be the goalkeepers. Jarmanpreet Singh, Captain Harmanpreet Singh (Captain), Amit Rohidas, Jugraj Singh, Sanjay, Sumit, Yashdeep Siwach are included in the defence.
In the midfield, Rajinder Singh, Raj Kumar Pal, Hardik Singh, Manpreet Singh, Neelkant Sharma, Vivek Sagar Prasad will work to balance the team. The attack will be commanded by Dilpreet Singh, Shilanand Lakra, Sukhjit Singh, Mandeep Singh and Abhishek.
