Indian origin Kash Patel will become the next CIA Chief! Close to Donald Trump, know the complete history

Washington: Former US President Donald Trump has defeated his Democrat rival and current Vice President Kamala Harris in the presidential elections and is ready to enter the White House once again after a gap of four years. Trump has so far received 277 electoral votes, whereas he needed only 270 votes. After winning the election, Donald Trump and his team will begin the process of selecting his new Cabinet and other top administration officials in the coming weeks.

Top contenders for top positions in the new administration include staunch Trump allies Jamie Dimon, Scott Bessant and John Paulson. Meanwhile, there is talk that Donald Trump may give a big post to his confidant and close friend of Indian origin Kashyap 'Kash' Patel by handing over the responsibility of national security. There is talk that Trump may make Patel the head of America's Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). He is being said to be the top contender for appointment to this post. Several Trump associates have put forward Patel's name for appointment as CIA chief.

Who is Kash Patel?

44-year-old Patel is a Trump loyalist. He is of Indian origin. He was born in 1980 in Garden City, New York, to Gujarati Indian parents who immigrated to the United States from East Africa via Canada. Patel's father worked as a financial officer in an aviation firm. He graduated from Law School at Pace University. Patel became a public defender after not being able to find a job at a prestigious law firm and spent nearly nine years in local and federal courts in Miami before joining the Justice Department.

Kash Patel is a Trump loyalist!

He served as Trump's counterterrorism adviser on the National Security Council and chief of staff to the acting Secretary of Defense during his previous tenure. He also has experience as a defense attorney, federal prosecutor, top House staffer, and national security official. Patel, considered a Trump loyalist, was given the top chair in a group of advisers appointed to the former president during his tenure as he faced issues regarding the response to the Ukraine war.

Kash's career has been full of controversies

Patel was on the National Security Council staff from the House Intelligence Committee in 2019. He has impressed Trump with his views on many security and defense issues in the United States. However, Patel has also faced controversies throughout his career. During Trump's first term, Patel faced hostility from some of the more experienced national security officials.
