18 year old Indian player got his name recorded in the pages of cricket history, played an innings of 498 runs

Delhi: 18-year-old Drona Desai created history during the Diwan Ballubhai Cup Under-19 tournament in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. Playing for St. Xavier's (Loyola) at the Shivaay Cricket Ground, Desai scored a brilliant 498 runs against JL English School. He hit 7 sixes and 86 fours in this explosive innings of 320 balls.

Due to his innings, St. Xavier's won by 712 runs. The special thing was that his team played with 10 players because one player arrived late.

With 498 runs, Drona has made a big name in the history of Indian cricket. Before him, only five Indian batsmen have scored 498 or more runs, including Pranav Dhanawade (1009), Prithvi Shaw (546), Dr. Havewala (515), Chamanlal (506) and Armaan Jaffer (498).

What did Drona Desai say about his innings?

After the match, Drona said that he had no idea that he was close to 500 runs because there was no scoreboard and the team did not inform him about it. Talking about his journey in cricket, he said that he started playing cricket at the age of seven and his father recognized his talent.

He was groomed by his coach Jaiprakash Patel, who has coached more than 40 cricketers so far. Drona expressed hope that he will win a big title in the future.
