Indian Premier League: Lucknow Super Giants beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by five wickets

Hyderabad: After the excellent performance of the bowlers, thanks to the brilliant batting of captain Rishabh Pant (68 not out) and Aiden Markram (45), Lucknow Super Giants defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by five wickets with one ball remaining in the 10th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 on Sunday. Chasing the target of 157 runs, the opening pair of Aiden Markram and Mitchell Marsh had just added 37 runs for the first wicket when Ishan Malinga dismissed Mitchell Sharma (14) in the fifth over.

After this, Rishabh Pant, who came to bat, added 40 runs for the second wicket with Aiden Markram. Shivang Kumar dismissed Aiden Markram in the 10th over. Aiden Markram played an inning of 45 runs in 27 balls, hitting six fours and two sixes. After this, soon the bowlers tried to bring Hyderabad back into the match by dismissing Ayush Badoni (12) and Nicholas Pooran (1). Abdul Samad scored 16 runs in 12 balls. Lucknow Super Giants won the match by five wickets after scoring 160 runs for five wickets in 19.5 overs. Rishabh Pant played an unbeaten inning of 68 runs hitting nine fours in 50 balls. He also dismissed Harsh Dubey (0) on the next ball. Shivang Kumar was out after scoring (five) runs. Harshal Patel (five) was run out in the last over of the innings. Sunrisers Hyderabad scored 156 runs for nine wickets in 20 overs. Mohammed Shami, Prince Yadav and Avesh Khan took two wickets each for Lucknow Super Giants. M Siddharth and Digvesh Rathi dismissed one batsman each.
