Why was the fare increased?
According to Railways, the operation expense of trains across the country has increased to Rs 2.63 lakh crore. Out of which the railway security expenditure is Rs 1.15 lakh crore. Due to the increase in fare, Railways will earn additional income of Rs 600 crore annually.

How many passengers travel by train daily?
