Bhopal Jodhpur Express: A big news has come out for railway passengers, where Railways has changed the rules of Tatkal ticket booking with the aim of increasing security and transparency. Under the new rule, OTP based authentication system has now been implemented in some selected trains passing through Bhopal. This new system has been started to prevent ticket fraud and to provide convenience to genuine passengers. This OTP based system has already been implemented in premium trains like Shatabdi and Vande Bharat Express.

OTP based Tatkal ticket booking system has been implemented at the reservation counters in train number 14814 Bhopal-Jodhpur Express running between Bhopal and Jodhpur from today i.e. 18th December 2025. Senior Railway official and DCM Saurabh Kataria said that under the new rules, it will now be mandatory for passengers to enter the OTP received on their registered mobile number while booking Tatkal tickets. Under this new system, Tatkal tickets will not be confirmed without OTP verification.
New rules will be imposed on IRCTC and mobile app
He clarified that this new rule will be applicable to IRCTC’s official website, mobile app and other online mediums as well as Computerized Reservation Counters (PRS). As soon as the Tatkal ticket booking process is started, the system will send an OTP to the passenger’s registered mobile number. The booking process will proceed only after the passenger enters this OTP in the system. The main objective of this step is to prevent fraud in booking tickets.

New rule will ban fake booking
According to Railways, Tatkal tickets will be issued only after successful verification of the validity of the entered OTP. Without this verification process, ticket booking will no longer be possible. The Railway Department believes that with the implementation of this new rule, fake booking will be stopped and the entire process of ticket distribution will become simpler than before. Apart from this, this step of Railways has been taken in the direction of ensuring the safety of passengers and providing them a reliable and convenient service.
This will prevent ticket fraud, so that genuine passengers will be able to get the benefit of Tatkal tickets on time and they will be able to complete their journey successfully.
