Indian Railways News : Changes in railway ticketing system, tickets will not be confirmed without ‘this’ process, know what is the process…

  • Railways completely block these ‘digital hackers’
  • Creating the biggest security perimeter ever in an e-ticketing system
  • What is the new rule?

Indian Railways News Marathi : Indian RailwaysGetting confirmed tickets above is like winning the war. It was common for tickets to sell out months in advance as soon as the window opened, mostly due to brokers abusing the software. But now the Railways has developed a plan to completely block these ‘digital hackers’.

Aadhaar attack on brokers

Indian Railways has created the biggest security perimeter ever in the e-ticketing system. As per the Railway Board’s new directive, when ticket booking starts during the Advance Reservation Period (ARP) i.e. 60 days before the journey, the complete control will be in the hands of Aadhaar-verified users on the first day.

Facial recognition technology is mandatory in NEET and JEE entrance exams

What is the new rule?

Earlier, Aadhaar was mandatory only for first few minutes of instant or general booking, but now this scope has been extended.

Two hours of strict vigilance

The earlier limit of just 15 minutes has now been extended to two hours. This means that any non-verified account will not be able to book tickets for the first 120 minutes after ticket booking starts.

Deadline is 12 midnight

According to an order issued by the Railway Board on 18 December 2025, only those whose IRCTC account is linked and verified with Aadhaar will be able to book tickets up to 12 midnight on the first day of booking.

Why is this drastic measure necessary?

Ticket black marketers often book thousands of tickets in seconds using fake IDs and automation software.

Avoid bulk bookings

Aadhaar linking will identify an individual, making it impossible to book hundreds of fake tickets using a single user ID.

Preference to the needy

Passengers who plan to return home months in advance are now more likely to get confirmed seats directly through the system instead of through brokers.

What will change for ordinary passengers?

If you are planning to book tickets for upcoming festivals, keep the following in mind:

No entry without Aadhaar: If your IRCTC account is not Aadhaar verified, you will not be eligible to book tickets on the first day of booking.

Preparation required: Railways clarified that this rule is being implemented in full readiness, hence passengers are advised to update their KYC in advance.
