Body of Indian student missing in America found after 6 days, Saket Srinivasaiah was studying engineering

Indian Student Found Dead: The body of Saket Srinivasiah, a 22-year-old Indian student studying in California, USA, who was missing for the last six days, has been recovered. Saket, a resident of Karnataka, was studying chemical and biomolecular engineering at the University of California, Berkeley. He went missing on 9 February.

Giving information on the social media platform ‘X’, the Indian Consulate in San Francisco said that the local police has confirmed the recovery of Saket’s body. The Embassy expressed its condolences and expressed its deepest condolences to the family and assured that all possible assistance will be provided in this difficult time.

The mortal remains will be sent to India soon

The embassy said that coordination is being done with local authorities for the process of sending the mortal remains to India as soon as possible. Consular officers are in direct contact with the family and are assisting in all necessary formalities.

Saket was an alumnus of IIT Madras and was pursuing post-graduation at Berkeley. He completed his schooling from Sri Vani Education Centre, Bengaluru. He is described as being approximately six feet one inch tall, weighing approximately 160 pounds, with short black hair and brown eyes.

Last time the location was Berkeley Hills

It is said that Srinivasiah was among the team of six people whose names are recorded in the patent for developing microchannel cooling system for Hyperloop. According to police, he was last seen near Lake Anza located in the Berkeley Hills area. As soon as the information was received, the police started a search operation and his body was recovered after about six days. Investigation of the matter is ongoing.

Saket Srinivasaiah, 22, from Karnataka, was an alumnus of IIT Madras and was pursuing a master’s degree from Berkeley. He completed his schooling from Sri Vani Education Centre, Bengaluru. After the disappearance, the local police and community members together launched a search operation. Saket’s body was recovered from Lake Anza in the Berkeley Hills on February 14, which was officially confirmed on February 15.
