Indian woman marries Pakistani man in Lahore

An Indian woman named Nida traveled to Lahore to marry her Pakistani partner, Fahad, after months of building a relationship online. Their court marriage took place on October 17, marking the culmination of their digital connection into a real-life union.

Nida, accompanied by her mother, made the journey to Pakistan on October 16, meeting Fahad in person for the first time. The couple’s relationship had blossomed through social media interactions, leading to their decision to marry.

The official ceremony was conducted at Lahore’s session court, where the marriage was formally registered with the local union council. The documentation will now be submitted to the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) to finalize their marriage records.

Reflecting on her experience, Nida expressed excitement about her time in Pakistan, stating, “I’ve always wanted to visit here, and I love this country.” She also revealed plans to apply for Pakistani citizenship under Section 10 of the Citizenship Act of 1951. Once her application is approved, she hopes to visit India again.

Both families are joyfully celebrating the union, receiving warm congratulations from friends and relatives as Nida and Fahad begin their new life together.

This story comes on the heels of another similar event where an Indian woman, Anju, also crossed borders to marry her Pakistani partner, Nasrullah. Anju recently returned to India to settle matters regarding her previous marriage and bring her children back.
