Indian women’s cricket team lost by 26 runs against England in the second T20I match.

New Delhi, 01 June 2026: England defeated India by 26 runs in the second T20I. Batting first, the England women’s cricket team scored 168 runs in the allotted 20 overs. In reply, the middle order of the Indian team collapsed and could score only 142 runs. With this impressive win, England leveled the three-match series 1-1.

England were struggling in the second T20 match of the series. Even reaching 150 runs seemed difficult, but Freya Kemp created havoc by scoring 39 runs in 13 balls in the last half over. England’s batsmen scored 42 runs in the last 15 balls. This batting in the death overs proved costly for Team India while chasing. Shri Charni took maximum three wickets for India.

Team India lost badly

While chasing the target of 169 runs, Team India’s Shefali Verma and Smriti Mandhana played short innings. Shefali scored 22 runs and Smriti scored 32 runs. Yastika Bhatia was well established at the crease but retired injured on 33 runs.

At one time, India’s score was 115 runs for 2 wickets. This was the beginning of the collapse, and in the next 30 runs, India lost six wickets. Jemimah Rodrigues could score only one run, and Richa Ghosh was out after scoring eight runs. The Indian middle order suffered a big blow.

Series tied 1-1

The Indian team won easily by 38 runs in the first T20I. Yastika Bhatia and Jemimah Rodrigues scored half centuries. However, England defeated Team India by 26 runs in the second T20I to level the series 1-1. The third and decisive T20I will be played on June 2.
