Dubai, 10 December. The latest rankings of the one-day format released by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday showed the dominance of Indian cricketers. In this sequence, ‘Hitman’ Rohit Sharma continues to top the batting rankings while Virat Kohli has reached the second position. Whereas in bowling, left arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav has reached the third position.
Benefit of best performance against South Africa
Rohit Sharma achieved the first position in the ICC rankings during the ODI series against Australia. He is firmly entrenched in the number one position. Even in the three-match ODI series against South Africa, Rohit’s innings of 57, 14, and 75 have maintained his hold on the number one rank.
Virat jumped two places
Whereas Virat Kohli has jumped two places and achieved second rank in the latest rankings. Virat played brilliant innings of 135, 102, and 65 runs in the three-match ODI series against South Africa. With the help of these three innings, he not only became the best player of the series but also reached the second position in the ICC ODI rankings after a long time.
Indian captain Shubman Gill is in fifth place
In the latest rankings, New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell and Afghanistan’s Ibrahim Zadran have lost one place each at the expense of Kohli. Both have slipped to third and fourth position respectively. Talking about other batsmen of the Indian team, ODI format captain Shubman Gill is at fifth position.
Rahul gained two places, reached 12th position
Pakistan’s Babar Azam is sixth, Ireland’s Harry Tactor is seventh, West Indies’ Shai Hope is eighth, Sri Lanka’s Charith Asalanka is ninth and India’s Shreyas Iyer is tenth. KL Rahul also batted well in the series against South Africa. He has gained two places. He is in 12th position. Quinton de Kock has jumped three places to 13th.
Kuldeep jumps 3 places in bowling rankings
On the other hand, in the bowling rankings, Khabbu spinner Kuldeep Yadav jumped three places and reached the third position after Afghan spinner Rashid Khan and Englishman Joffra Archer. However, other Indian bowlers have suffered losses. Among these, Ravindra Jadeja has slipped two places to 16th position while Mohd. Siraj has moved to 21st position with a loss of four places.
