Indians should leave Iran immediately… India issues advisory to Indian citizens to return to Iran
digital desk- The Indian government on Wednesday issued a special advisory for its citizens living in Iran, appealing to them to leave the country as soon as possible. This step has been taken at a time when the security situation in Iran has become unstable due to increasing regional tensions, protests and possible military action. Indian officials said that all Indian and PIO citizens present in Iran need to remain extremely cautious at this time. The Indian Embassy in Tehran clarified in the advisory that Indian citizens are advised to leave Iran by commercial flights and other available means of transport. The embassy said to stay away from any disturbed area or protest area. Along with this, he also appealed to keep an eye on the local media and be alert about any new developments.
Always keep passport, identity card and other necessary travel documents close to you.
The advisory also directs that all citizens should always keep their passports, identity cards and other essential travel documents easily available. If necessary, the Indian Embassy should be contacted. The embassy has started an emergency helpline and has also shared several contact numbers and official email IDs to provide immediate help in case of any emergency. The Ministry of External Affairs has also requested those citizens who have not yet registered with the Embassy to complete the registration through the online portal immediately. Besides, families in India have also been asked to ensure registration on their behalf if internet or communication services are disrupted in Iran.
There have been 2500 deaths in Iran
There have been continuous reports of protests in Iran for the last few months, in which about 2,500 deaths have been reported so far. Hints of possible US military action and local unrest have further complicated the security situation there. The Indian Embassy also specifically asked citizens not to be part of any public protests and remain in safe areas. Following this advisory, security and return has become paramount for Indian students, businessmen and other citizens living in Iran. The government has made it clear that ensuring the safety of citizens will be the priority under any circumstances.
