India’s argument and Nirav Modi trapped, know what happened in the court

News India Live, Digital Desk: A bad news has come from London for fugitive diamond trader Nirav Modi. If he was hoping that he would get relief soon or that he would be saved from coming to India, then he has got a severe shock. The hearing which was to be held against his extradition i.e. sending him to India, has now been postponed. The new date has been fixed in 2026. Why did the court postpone the hearing? The reason behind this is quite interesting and it is also being seen as a diplomatic victory for the Indian government. In fact, some “strong assurances” have been given to the UK court by India in the matter. These assurances are usually related to prison security, health facilities and human rights of the prisoner. What often happens is that fugitives try to stop extradition by making the excuse of “poor conditions of Indian prisons”. But the court seems to be satisfied with the assurance given by the Indian agencies to the court or wants to test it further, due to which the hearing has been extended. Why is this a “setback” for Nirav Modi? It may seem that postponing the hearing is a good thing, but here the case is the opposite. Nirav Modi is currently lodged in London’s Wandsworth Jail and he has been continuously trying for bail, which is rejected every time. Postponement of the hearing simply means that he will have to spend more time in jail. His efforts to get his early release or to hush up the case have failed for the time being. The next year will be (2026). Friends, the year 2025 is about to end, and the way the date has been shifted to 2026, it is clear that a big decision can be taken in this case next year. The Government of India and agencies are putting in all their efforts to bring this main accused in the Punjab National Bank (PNB) scam to Mumbai and make him face the law. Currently, the winter of London has become longer for Nirav Babu, and the sword of “return home” is hanging closer to his head than ever before.
