According to reports, the Congress leader further said, “Manufacturing is the backbone of strong economies, but unfortunately this sector is becoming weak in India. To accelerate growth, we need to increase production. This will require creating a strong manufacturing ecosystem and creating good quality jobs on a large scale.”
Taking aim at the central government, Rahul Gandhi said, “India’s manufacturing is declining, whereas it should be increasing. The country needs to increase production, because production is the key to the success of any country. But unfortunately our manufacturing is becoming weak.” Rahul Gandhi will also attend a major **Indian Overseas Congress (IOC) event held in Berlin on December 17, where he will meet IOC leaders from across Europe.
He further alleged that during the Modi government, monopoly or duopoly is being promoted in every sector, which is harmful for India. The Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha also said that it is very important to empower Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to strengthen the country’s economy.
Posting on his WhatsApp channel, he said, “Monopoly or duopoly (domination by only two groups) is a curse for India. The Modi government is pursuing this policy in every sector and every industry.”
The Congress leader further said that during the Jan Sansad (meeting with various groups of the society), he interacted with a delegation of small and medium ice cream producers. After listening to their problems during the conversation, it became clear that the government is harming small businesses in the interest of its favorite industrialists.
Rahul Gandhi said that the customers of small ice cream producers are mainly the poor and lower middle class people of the country. There are thousands of small ice cream manufacturers across the country, who provide employment to lakhs of people. He alleged that the GST process is so complex for these small businesses that it becomes difficult for them to bear the burden. He said that for this reason a special scheme was made for small businesses, but the BJP government deliberately excluded ice cream from the scheme. Apart from this, BJP ruled states and municipal corporations have also increased the fees drastically.
