Born in 1928, his daughter Anita Raj is a also a Bollywood actor. Jagdish Raj’s feat of playing same character in so many films have earned him several records. Besides Guinness World Record, he also holds the Limca Book of Records for being the most memorable police officer ever. Some of his popular movies include Deewar, Don, Shakti, Mazdoor, Imaan Dharam, Gopichand Jasoos, Silsila, Aaina and Besharam.
By the year 1992, Jagdish Raj distanced himself from the industry. By that time, his daughter Anita Raj had also been successful in films. She debuted opposite Raj Babbar in the 1981 film Prem Geet. Throughout 80s and 90s, she has appeared in many successful films. Her pairing with Dharmendra was most appreciated in films like Naukar Biwi Ka, Jeene Nahi Doonga and Ghulami. She is known to be a fitness enthusiast who has maintained an enviable physique even at the age of 60.
Jagdish Raj Khurana passed away at the age of 85, in 2013, due to respiratory illnesses.
