India’s oil supply in danger, yet Prime Minister silent: Rahul Gandhi targets Modi

New Delhi. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has cornered Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the problems being faced by India during the ongoing conflict between America, Israel and Iran. Rahul Gandhi posted on social media

Rahul Gandhi wrote, “The conflict has reached our neighbourhood, an Iranian warship has been sunk in the Indian Ocean. Yet the Prime Minister has not commented on this. At such a time, we need a stable leadership. On the contrary, India has a Prime Minister who is a compromiser and has given up strategic autonomy.”

Crude oil prices have increased by more than 2 percent on Thursday amid increasing tension in the Middle East. Prices have surged due to supply disruptions as Iran has closed the Strait of Hormuz. According to reports, a container ship passing through the Strait of Hormuz was hit by a projectile, causing damage to the ship.

According to government sources, India is currently in a secure position regarding crude oil, LPG and LNG. The country has about 25 days of crude oil reserves and 25 days of petroleum products. India imports more than 85 percent of its total crude oil needs, of which about 50 percent of the oil comes from countries in the Middle East, which reaches India mainly through the Strait of Hormuz. After the Iran war, the supply through this route has been affected.
