India’s own ‘Iron Dome’! An impenetrable fort will be built in this city of UP, China and Pakistan will tremble
Lucknow: Last year i.e. in 2025, when India launched ‘Operation Vermillion’ against Pakistan after the Pahalgam attack, attempts were made to carry out drone and missile attacks from across the border. At that time, for the first time, India felt the lack of its own impenetrable defense system i.e. ‘Iron Dome’. But now there is great news for the countrymen. India has completed preparations to build its own indigenous Iron Dome and Uttar Pradesh will become its centre.
History will be created on the land of Chitrakoot
Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has taken a big step to take India’s indigenous defense capabilities to new heights. 75 hectares of land has been acquired in Chitrakoot under Uttar Pradesh Defense Industrial Corridor. Next generation missiles, advanced radar systems and India’s own ‘Iron Dome’ will be manufactured in this unit.
Huge investment of ₹600 crore
According to BEL, the government is investing more than Rs 600 crore in this mega project. This manufacturing unit will not only make missiles, but work will also be done on ‘Quick-Reaction Surface-to-Air Missile’ (QRSAM) and ‘Kusha’ air defense system. Not only this, high-tech facility for maintenance and repair (MRO) of weapons will also be available here.
What is ‘Project Kusha’ which will become Kaal?
‘Project Kusha’ developed by DRDO is a long range indigenous air defense system. Its direct objective is to destroy stealth fighter jets, cruise missiles and deadly drones of countries like China and Pakistan in the air itself. This system will spread an umbrella over India at a range of about 400 kilometers which will be impossible to penetrate.
Will give competition to Russia’s S-400, will be ready by 2028
Project Kusha is often compared to Russia’s deadly S-400 system. However, its biggest feature is that it is completely ‘Made in India’. The goal is to have India’s own ‘Iron Dome’ deployed by 2028-29, so that we do not have to look at foreign weapons.
three layer protective shield
This defense system will work at three different levels (Three-layer shield), which will have three types of interceptor missiles:
- First Layer (M1): Range up to 150 kilometers.
- Second Layer (M2): Range up to 250 kilometers.
- Third Layer (M3): Huge range of 350 to 400 kilometers. Its advanced radar is so powerful that it can track dozens of enemies simultaneously and destroy them in the blink of an eye.
CM Yogi hands over command, MSME will also get wings
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath himself has handed over the land allotment letters to BEL CMD Manoj Jain. CM Yogi said that this investment will not only make the country safe, but UP will also become a global hub of defense manufacturing. This project will also provide new technology and huge work opportunities to small industries (MSMEs), which will create thousands of employment opportunities.
