IndiGo Airlines Offers Rs 10,000 Travel Vouchers to Passengers Stranded During December Flight Disruptions
IndiGo Airlines has announced travel vouchers worth Rs 10,000 for passengers who were stranded at airports between December 3 and 5, 2025, due to operational disruptions. These vouchers will be valid for 12 months and can be redeemed on any future IndiGo flight.
The airline expressed regret over the inconvenience caused, stating:
“IndiGo acknowledges that part of our customers travelling on 3/4/5 December 2025 were stranded for many hours at certain airports, with some severely impacted due to congestion. We will offer travel vouchers worth Rs 10,000 to these customers, valid for the next 12 months.”
This compensation is in addition to standard ticket refunds and the Rs 5,000–Rs 10,000 compensation mandated by the government. IndiGo also confirmed that most refunds have already been processed, with the remaining being cleared shortly.
The disruptions affected thousands of passengers nationwide, causing widespread cancellations and delays. Airports, including Jaiprakash Narayan Airport in Patna, experienced congestion as travelers faced long waits amid the operational challenges.
IndiGo, one of India’s largest airlines, has been gradually restoring operations, though over 100 flights were still cancelled on Thursday as the airline works to stabilize its schedule after the disruptions.
