Indigo flight going to Manchester did a U-turn in the middle of the sky, the plane returned after 7 hours

An Indigo flight going from Delhi to Manchester, United Kingdom had to return midway. This sudden decision created an atmosphere of panic for some time among the passengers on board the plane. The airline flight had left for Manchester from Delhi. After a flight of about seven hours, it turned back towards Delhi.

According to flight tracking platform Flightradar24, the plane took off normally from Delhi and was proceeding on the scheduled route. The flight had reached near the Ethiopian airfield, when suddenly the plane took a U-turn. After this the aircraft turned back towards India and entered Indian airspace.

It is being told that this was the first flight of Indigo from Delhi to Manchester after 26 February. However, passengers had to face inconvenience due to the flight returning midway. The plane was returning after being in the air for about seven hours, due to which both curiosity and concern increased among the passengers to know why this happened.

Indigo reaction

Indigo has also responded to this entire incident. An airline spokesperson said that due to the rapidly changing conditions in West Asia and surrounding areas, many countries have suddenly imposed restrictions on their airspace. In such a situation, keeping security in mind, the routes of some flights have to be changed.

The airline clarified that flight 6E-033 going from Delhi to Manchester was also decided to return for the same reason. Due to last-minute restrictions imposed on airspace, the aircraft had to return to its original departure point Delhi.

IndiGo also said that the safety of passengers, crew and aircraft is the biggest priority of the airline. The company is in constant touch with the concerned authorities and as soon as the situation becomes normal, options to restart flights smoothly will be considered.

Ongoing tension in the Middle East

Due to ongoing tensions in the Middle East and restrictions imposed on airspace, many international flights are either having to take longer routes or have to return midway. For this reason this Indigo flight also could not reach its destination.
