IndiGo Informs DGCA That Identifying Specific Trigger for Disruption is Currently Impossible:

IndiGo has officially communicated to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation regarding the widespread flight disruptions that recently threw passengers into chaos across the country. The airline management submitted a formal response to the show cause notice issued by the aviation regulator and stated that identifying the single or precise reason for the operational collapse is currently not possible. The response which was signed by the top leadership including the Chief Executive Officer emphasized that the crisis appeared to be the result of a compounding effect involving several different issues rather than one specific failure. The airline expressed deep regret for the situation and offered apologies to the affected travelers who faced cancellations and delays during the peak winter travel season. In their submission to the regulator IndiGo pointed out that a combination of new pilot fatigue management rules and technical system glitches alongside adverse weather conditions contributed to the cascade of cancellations. They have requested the Directorate General of Civil Aviation for additional time to conduct a thorough internal investigation to determine the root cause of the breakdown. The airline intends to utilize the standard response period to gather more data and provide a comprehensive report detailing how the schedule management fell apart so drastically. Meanwhile the government and the regulator are reviewing the preliminary reply to decide on the next steps regarding potential penalties or enforcement actions against the carrier for the massive inconvenience caused to the public.
