Indigo provides relief to troubled passengers at the airport – Rs 10,000 compensation and Rs 10,000 travel voucher

New Delhi, 11 December. The country’s largest airline Indigo Airlines has announced compensation and travel vouchers for the passengers who were troubled for a long time at the airports on December 3, 4 and 5. The company says that affected passengers will get relief from this step.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the airlines have expressed regret over the incident and said that as per the government guidelines, compensation ranging from Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000 will be given to these passengers. The amount of compensation will depend on how long they were stranded at the airport. Apart from this, passengers will also be given a travel voucher of Rs 10,000 each. This can be used to book tickets for the next 12 months.

Refunds have been issued to passengers of all canceled flights

The statement said that refunds have been issued to the passengers of all the flights that were canceled during the IndiGo crisis and in most of the cases the refund amount has been credited to the accounts of the affected passengers. Regarding refunds booked through third party platforms, the airlines have also claimed that the refund has been issued. Such passengers have been advised to send an email to customer.experience@goindigo.in.

Situation is gradually improving, more than 1950 flights expected to operate today

Earlier, in another statement, Indigo had said that its operations have become stable since December 9. More than 1,700 flights were operated on December 8 last. The next day on December 9, 1,800 flights and on December 10, more than 1,900 flights were operated. The airline has expected to operate 1,950 flights today (December 11). He said that in the last three days, only three flights were canceled at the last moment due to technical and weather related reasons.

It is noteworthy that Indigo canceled a large number of flights since December 3, due to which passengers had to face a lot of trouble. The worst situation was on December 5, when the company operated only 700 flights and more than 1,500 of its flights were cancelled. The government has constituted a three-member high level committee to investigate the entire matter. Also, Indigo has been ordered to reduce its winter schedule flights by 10 percent.
