Indirect discussion of ‘ceasefire’ between Washington and Tehran, American aircraft carrier deployed in Arabian Sea, blockade of Iranian ports continues

Washington/Tehran: Amidst the ongoing heavy tension in the Middle East between America (US) and Iran, on one hand, vigorous indirect discussions are going on on ‘Ceasefire Framework’ through backchannel diplomacy, while on the other hand, preparations for war are also at their peak. The US Central Command (CENTCOM) has made it clear that if called for military action, its deadly ‘Abraham Lincoln Aircraft Carrier Strike Group’ is fully prepared. CENTCOM has demonstrated its combat capability by sharing photos of fighter jets being launched from the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) deployed in the Arabian Sea on social media platform X.

Blockade of Iranian ports and Pakistan’s mediation
US Central Command has announced that it continues to strictly enforce the US blockade against Iranian ports. This step was taken by Washington after Tehran took control of the strategically important Strait of Hormuz. Meanwhile, the two countries are exchanging messages and draft texts to create a framework for a possible agreement, according to reports by Iran’s ISNA news agency and Al Jazeera. A top Iranian official claims both sides are “very close” to an agreement. Amidst this crisis, Pakistan’s Home Minister Mohsin Naqvi is also currently on a tour of Iran as part of efforts to handle the situation and intervene.

Trump adamant on uranium, Khamenei flatly denies
This conversation is taking place at a time when US President Donald Trump is adamant on completely neutralizing Tehran’s nuclear capabilities. According to experts, Iran currently has a stock of about 900 pounds of highly enriched uranium, which can be refined to make nuclear weapons. Trump is working on a military and diplomatic strategy to recover or destroy this stock. However, the big news quoted by Reuters sources is that Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei has completely rejected the American demand and issued an order that this stock of enriched uranium should not go out of the country at any cost.

America is struggling with lack of missile defense
A revelation by The Washington Post has brought a new twist to this tension. According to the report, America has used or sold a large stock of its advanced missile defense interceptors to protect Israel. In such a situation, going directly into war could prove to be a big strategic challenge for America.
