Indonesia Earthquake: Earth trembled due to strong earthquake in Indonesia, tsunami waves of 7.4 intensity
Indonesia Earthquake: Strong tremors of a 7.4 magnitude earthquake were felt in Indonesia on Thursday. The intensity of the earthquake was so strong that small waves of tsunami arose after this earthquake in the Molucca Sea. One woman died, while several houses and buildings were damaged. Tremors were felt in many areas for 10 to 20 seconds. According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), the epicenter of the earthquake was about 35 kilometers below the ground in the Molucca Sea. Waves of about 8 inches were reported at Bitung and about 1 foot at West Halmahera. The Honolulu-based Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said waves about 2 inches high were also seen in Davao in the southern Philippines, but there was no major tsunami threat to remote areas.

The search and rescue agency has issued an alert after the earthquake. Disaster Management Agency spokesperson Abdul Muhri has appealed to the people living in coastal areas to be cautious and go near the sea only after permission from the authorities. At least two more aftershocks were felt under the sea after the earthquake, but officials made it clear that there was no threat of a tsunami.
