Nature wreaks havoc in Indonesia, earth trembled with intensity of 7.4, alert issued for 1,000 km after earthquake

Earthquake in Indonesia: A powerful earthquake of 7.4 magnitude has occurred in the Molucca Sea region located in the north-east of Indonesia, causing panic in the entire area. A special warning has been issued for the city of Ternate in eastern Indonesia and its surrounding islands. The local administration has been put on alert and people have been appealed to stay away from the beaches. Although no official information has been revealed so far about any major loss of life or property due to this earthquake, the situation is being continuously monitored.

Indonesia is one of the most earthquake-prone countries in the world. It is located on the Ring of Fire, an extremely active seismic region of the Earth. Many tectonic plates collide with each other in this region, causing frequent earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. This is the reason why such natural disasters are seen again and again in Indonesia.

History of earthquakes in Indonesia

History is witness to the fact that many devastating earthquakes have occurred in Indonesia before. Hundreds of people lost their lives in the 5.6 magnitude earthquake that occurred in Cianjur in the year 2022. In 2018, the earthquake in Sulawesi and the subsequent tsunami caused huge devastation, in which thousands of people were killed.
