Land of 19 villages acquired for Indore-Manmad railway line
Indore-Manmad Rail Line: Taking a big step towards the proposed Indore-Manmad rail project from Madhya Pradesh to Maharashtra, the Railway Ministry has issued a notification for land acquisition. Along with this information, 30 days have been fixed for filing claims and objections regarding the acquisition of lands coming in the way of the project. For the construction of this railway line, private and government land of 19 villages of Indore district will be acquired.
MP government is giving less compensation
Farmer leader Hansraj Mandloi said that the Maharashtra government is giving four times the compensation for the land for the construction of Indore-Manmad railway line, but the Madhya Pradesh government is taking the land from the tribal farmers and giving only double the compensation, which is wrong and shows mutual inequality.
18 villages of Mhow area will be affected
The construction of this project will start from Mhow (Dr. Ambedkar Nagar) in Indore district and will extend till Manmad in Maharashtra. Under this, both government and private land of 18 villages (Khedi, Hasta Murar, Chainpura, Kamadpur, Kuwalpura, Ahilyapura, Nanded, Jamli, Kailod, Berchha, Gawli Palasia, Ashapura, Malendi, Kodaria, Borkhedi, Choradia and Nevguradia) of Mhow assembly constituency will be acquired. According to the information, 131.49 hectares of land of about 243 tribal farmers of these villages is to be acquired.
Railways made this claim
Hansraj Mandloi said that Railways is calling this project and construction very important for the public. The department has claimed that with the construction of this railway line, the distance between Indore-Mumbai will be reduced by about 250 kilometers. The distance from Tamil Nadu to Delhi will decrease by approximately 680 kilometers. Apart from this, Railways has also claimed that there will be direct rail connectivity from Mhow to Jammu and Kashmir, which will facilitate the travel of the people of Mhow as well as the passengers of Gujarat.

A token amount of Rs 1,000 was also given in the budget of 2024. Now the project has once again received approval of Rs 18 thousand 36 crores. This new railway line will make the journey from Indore to Mumbai much easier. Currently, one has to go from Indore to Mumbai via Dewas, Ujjain, Ratlam, Thandla, Dahod, Godhra, Vadodara, which is a total distance of 828 km.
