Inflation hits the people of Uttar Pradesh, electricity bill will increase by 10% from June

Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) has decided to impose additional charges on the electricity bill. According to the order issued, about 10 percent additional bill will be taken from consumers as fuel surcharge. This increased charge will be included in the electricity bill for the month of June. That means consumers will have to pay additional charges along with their regular bill.
Why should electricity bills increase?
The electricity department says that the cost of power production and purchase is continuously increasing. Fuel surcharge has been implemented to compensate for this additional expense. According to officials, this step has been taken with the aim of keeping the power distribution system economically balanced. This decision will impact domestic consumers as well as commercial and industrial category consumers. In such a situation, every section of electricity user will have to pay more than before.
Complaints surfaced regarding electricity supply
