Inflation shock to the country, commercial LPG prices increased by ₹ 195.5
Bureau Prayagraj- The prices of LPG cylinders have been increased from April 1, leading to a significant increase in the prices of commercial and small cylinders in major cities. In Delhi, the price of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder has increased by Rs 195.50 to Rs 2,078.50. At the same time, the price of 5 kg FTL cylinder has now increased by Rs 51 to Rs 549 per refill. On the other hand, the rates of domestic cooking gas LPG, which were increased by Rs 60 per 14.2 kg cylinder on March 7, have not been increased further.
The price of 14.2 kg cylinder in Delhi is Rs 913. Blackness of all types of LPG cylinders continues. The government is not able to have any control over it. The eyes of government oil companies are closed, the government is making excuses. The increase of Rs 51 on small cylinders is a direct attack on the working class. Generally, the labor class living in metropolitan cities works with this small cylinder. Because for big cylinder he has to provide Aadhaar, address and other documents. But smaller cylinders are usually available. In which he runs his business by filling LPG.
The change comes in the backdrop of rising geopolitical tensions in West Asia involving the US, Israel and Iran, which has led to the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, a vital global route for crude oil and energy supplies. Aviation turbine fuel (ATF) prices have also been increased in major metros from April 1, 2026.
The price of ATF in Delhi is now Rs 2,07,341.22 per kl, while in Kolkata it is Rs 2,05,953.33 per kl. The price of ATF in Mumbai has been recorded at Rs 1,94,968.67 per kiloliter and in Chennai at Rs 2,14,597.66 per kiloliter. This increase is in line with rising global crude oil prices, which is impacting airline operations and the overall cost of air travel.
