Infosys' NR Narayana Murthy talks about village development, US-India relations will have important contribution

He commented positively on the strong ties between the US and India and also shared his views on the future of the Indian economy.

Narayan Murthy's statement on US-India relations

Narayana Murthy said, “US-India relations will remain as strong as ever. “What we have achieved in economic growth is extremely impressive.” His statement reflects an optimistic view of the growing partnership between the two countries, which continues to improve in the areas of trade and investment.

Challenges of development in rural India

Narayana Murthy also said that the Indian economy is growing, but it is mainly limited to urban areas. He acknowledged that bringing this growth to rural India is a big challenge. “We have to ensure that good-paying jobs are provided in rural areas,” Murthy said.

What steps should be taken for rural development?

According to him, “The most effective way to bring development to rural areas is to focus on low tech manufacturing jobs.” Murthy believes that most of the rural people are deprived of higher technical education, hence such jobs should be created which have less use of technology but have good income.

Referring to China's economy, Narayan Murthy said that China has increased its economy five times, and there must be some right strategy behind this. “We should study China's development model and see how we can implement it in India,” he said.

Narayana Murthy also praised Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. “We must support visionary leaders like Gadkari, who are playing an important role in building the infrastructure of rural India,” he said.
