Injury scare for Virat Kohli ahead of Champions trophy 2025
India’s superstar batter Virat Kohli has been reported to have some trouble in his neck, which is reported to cause him to miss his Ranji trophy match against Saurashtra
India’s star batter Virat Kohli is reported to have some trouble in his neck during his last outing in the fifth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. There have been reports about Kohli going to miss Delhi’s upcoming Ranji Trophy clash against Saurashtra due to the sprain in his neck.
Delhi is going to face Saurashtra in the sixth Elite Group D match from January 23 to 26 in Rajkot. However, Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) official has stated that there is no information about Kohli regarding difficulty in his neck.
“Virat Kohli had a neck sprain and even took an injection for the same. There is a possibility of him skipping the first of the two Ranji Trophy games left, and a clear picture could come if the DDCA selectors are given an update,” a source stated.
Virat Kohli last played a Ranji trophy match back in 2012 against Uttar Pradesh in Ghaziabad. The match also consisted of big names like Gautam Gambhir, Virender Sehwag, Ishant Sharma, and Ashish Nehra for Delhi.
Virat last appeared in the recently-concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, where he was struggling with the bat. The star batter managed to score just 190 runs in five Test matches. Kohli will now be seen in the upcoming ODI series against England, and will be an important part of Indian batting lineup for the Champions Trophy 2025.
