Haryana Assembly Elections News: The Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) has decided to again join hands with its former ally Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) for the Haryana Assembly elections to be held later this year. Leaders of both parties made this announcement on Thursday.

As per the seat sharing between the two parties, out of 90 assembly seats in Haryana, BSP will contest on 37 seats while INLD will contest on the remaining seats.

Addressing a joint press conference with BSP at Nayagaon on the outskirts of Chandigarh, INLD leader Abhay Chautala said that this alliance is not based on selfish interests but keeping in mind the sentiments of the people. He said that BSP and INLD are thinking how the poor will get justice and how the weaker section will be empowered.

Chautala said, “We have decided to contest the upcoming assembly elections in Haryana together.” Today, the general public has made up its mind to oust the BJP from power and keep away the Congress, which looted the state for the first 10 years.

BSP national convenor Akash Anand said that recently BSP supremo Mayawati and Chautala had a long meeting regarding the alliance. He said, “In that meeting it was decided that out of 90 assembly seats in Haryana, BSP will contest on 37 seats.”

In February 2019, BSP broke its nearly nine-month-old alliance with INLD. INLD was the main opposition party in Haryana at that time. This step was taken amid the split in the Chautala family. (pti)
