‘Innocence not visible’… Sunil Lahiri’s opinion on Ranbir Kapoor’s Shri Ram avatar, comparison with Arun Govil
Tezzbuzz Desk – Bollywood’s much awaited film Ramayana has become the center of discussion everywhere these days. While the recently released teaser increased the excitement of the fans, the debate regarding it has also intensified on social media. Especially people are giving different opinions regarding Ranbir Kapoor’s Ram look.
Meanwhile, now a reaction has emerged which has deepened this discussion. Sunil Lahiri, who became famous by playing the role of Laxman in Ramayana, has recently expressed his opinion on the teaser of the film.
Sunil Lahiri praised the grandeur and visuals of the teaser, but also pointed out an important flaw. He says that Ranbir Kapoor is a great actor, but the innocence, peace and patience that should be reflected in the character of Lord Ram was not fully visible in the teaser.
He mentioned Arun Govil in comparison and said that the spontaneity and divinity seen on his face is the real identity of this character. According to him, the character of Lord Ram comes alive not just through big sets and spectacular looks, but through emotions and inner peace.
However, Sunil Lahiri also clarified that it is not right to judge the entire film on the basis of just one teaser. He said that the purpose of the teaser is to show the grandeur of the film, while the real strength lies in the story and emotional connection.
He stressed that emotions are most important in a mythological story like ‘Ramayana’. No matter how big the budget of the film is, if the audience is not able to connect emotionally with the characters, the impact of the film may be reduced.
