Inside Phu Quoc’s concept-driven beachfront resort for a summer getaway

Designed to resemble a 19th-century academic institution, the resort integrates thematic elements into its architecture, services, and guest experiences.

Unlike conventional beach resorts, the property is developed as a narrative space, where each building and activity reflects a “department” of the imagined Lamarck University. This approach creates a distinctive setting that combines leisure with a structured design concept.

The resort’s villa collection is designed for privacy and personalized service. Each villa features themed interiors, private gardens, and swimming pools, along with butler service and airport transfers.

At the top tier, Lamarck House is a seven-bedroom beachfront estate with panoramic ocean views, a private infinity pool, and large living spaces suitable for private events or group stays.

Guests staying in villas can opt for the “Villa Voyage” package, which includes additional services such as a floating breakfast served in the private pool.

Dining at the resort follows thematic concepts, with each venue designed around a distinct narrative and setting.

Pink Pearl by Olivier E., located in a seaside mansion, offers French fine dining curated by Michelin-starred chef Olivier Elzer, combining international ingredients with locally inspired elements.

Other dining options include Red Rum, a beachfront restaurant focused on barbecue and social dining, and Tempus Fugit, which specializes in shared seafood experiences. French & Co. offers afternoon tea blending French techniques with Vietnamese ingredients.

The resort also provides a range of daily activities, including wellness sessions, cultural programs, and interactive workshops. The “Uni Tour” introduces guests to the Lamarck University concept, offering context for the resort’s design

Facilities for families include a Kids Club, while outdoor activities such as stand-up paddleboarding and kayaking are available along Khem Beach.

Chanterelle Spa by JW, inspired by the resort’s “Department of Mycology,” offers wellness treatments in a nature-themed environment, with services available for both adults and children.

The “Explore Sunset Town” package includes access to Sun World attractions such as Aquatopia Water Park and the sea-crossing cable car, along with shows including “Kiss of the Sea” and “Symphony of the Sea.”

As part of the Sun Group ecosystem, the resort also benefits from expanded connectivity through Sun Phu Quoc Airways, which links the island to major domestic and international destinations. Guests traveling with the airline may receive additional benefits, including discounts on accommodation and dining.
