Inspector Naveen Ratara arrested in fraud of Rs 7 crore in Faridabad Municipal Corporation, major action by ACB
Haryana News: Taking action in Faridabad, Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested Municipal Corporation Inspector Naveen Ratara in a fraud case of Rs 7 crore registered in 2025. In the case, around Rs 200 crore was paid to the Municipal Corporation without any work, in which fraud of Rs 7 crore was involved. After the arrest of the inspector, the possibility of arrest of other suspects has increased.
Collusion with contractor
According to the ACB, Faridabad Municipal Corporation had issued 8 work orders for development works in 2018, the total amount of which was around Rs 40 lakh. Later, the officers and employees of the corporation, in collusion with the contractor Satbir, increased the amount of these work orders to more than Rs 7 crore.
Other accused had demanded relief
ACB had registered the case on the complaint of the case in August 2025. After this, the then clerk and current inspector Naveen Ratara and other accused had sought relief in the court, but they did not get any relief. After this ACB arrested Naveen Ratara.
Amount of issued work orders increased
The ACB said that Naveen Ratara has also been involved in several other corruption cases and has five separate FIRs registered against him, which were lodged in 2022, 2023 and 2025. Ratara has confessed during investigation that in 2018, the amount of work orders issued for many development works of Ballabhgarh area was increased.
For example:
Work Order 1433 (Ward No.-38) – Interlocking tiles work increased from Rs 4.92 lakh to Rs 93,82,362.
Work Order 1442 (Ward No. 36) – Work from Yadav Dairy to Sai Hospital on Mohana Road increased from Rs 5.83 lakh to Rs 98,95,837.
ACB officials said that after the arrest of Naveen Ratara, other accused in this case may also be arrested soon. A total scam of Rs 200 crore has come to light in the case of payment without work in the Municipal Corporation and investigation is still going on in other cases.
