The company has announced that creators accounts can now use a maximum of 5 hashtags per reel or post. The social media giant said, ‘We’ve found that using fewer (up to 5) more targeted hashtags instead of many generic hashtags can improve both the performance of your content and people’s experience on Instagram.’

The company wants creators to be more judicious and considerate when it comes to hashtags used on posts and reels.
