New Delhi. Congress leaders are cornering the central government in different parts of the country regarding GST. Congress says that the situation is that 64% of GST collection is coming from the bottom 50% of the population of this country. Now Congress leader Jairam Ramesh has attacked the government by referring to a news titled 'Soon, soap, shampoo and biscuits will become expensive.'

Jairam Ramesh wrote on social media Retail inflation is already at a 14-month high. Now everyday things like soap and shampoo are going to become more expensive.
The government should have taken steps to control inflation on priority basis, but instead of providing relief, it is busy looting people by imposing GST on essential items. For how long will people continue to struggle with inflation?
We are continuously raising the issue that the income of the people in the country is not increasing and inflation is continuously touching the sky.
Retail inflation is already at a 14-month high. Now things used every day like soap and shampoo are going to become more expensive.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Pawan Kheda held a press conference in Jaipur regarding GST. He said, the middle class and poor section of the country have been hurt the most by GST. In the year 2021-22, 64% of GST collection came from 50% of the country's population. For the first time in independent India, GST was imposed on agricultural goods. No government has ever done such injustice to the farmers.
Narendra Modi had promised to double the income of farmers, but by imposing GST he doubled the cost of farming. The world's experts could not understand India's GST system. Prime Minister's Chief Economic Advisor Arvind Subramaniam had called GST a national tragedy. Not only this, Late. Dr. Manmohan Singh ji had said in the year 2017 that GST being implemented without care and adequate preparation is a policy of looting the poor and middle class.
