The meeting of the District Road Safety Committee was held in Sangam Auditorium on Friday under the chairmanship of the District Magistrate. In the meeting, the District Magistrate has asked for parking of buses and trucks only in the 16 permanent holding areas identified to make the city jam-free in view of the huge traffic jam in the city area.
In the meeting, the District Magistrate has jointly instructed the Police, Divisional Transport Officer and Transport Department officials to take strict action against Daggamar buses. He has given instructions to intensify action against numberless trucks, vehicles and unregistered vehicles and take intensive enforcement action. He said that if a driver is found repeatedly violating traffic rules, then action should be taken to cancel his driving license. He has asked to remove the problems being faced in the operation of Mukhyamantri Gram Parivahan Yojana and to operate the buses on the routes of Meja and Karchana in an effective manner. He has asked to be informed by June 23 about the closure of cuts on the Tashkent route. The District Magistrate has asked NHAI and NH to ensure availability of heavy cranes on the routes and to provide cranes to the police department in case of emergency.
The District Magistrate directed that if any particular person has damaged government property like railings, dividers etc. along the roads constructed by the Public Works Department, NHAI, NH, Municipal Corporation and PDA, then strict action should be taken against the person concerned. He said that if any local marriage hall, petrol pump operator or hotel operator is found involved in causing damage to these properties, then legal action should be taken against them by registering a case under relevant sections. In the meeting, the District Magistrate has given instructions to keep an eye on illegal taxi stands and to prevent unnumbered vehicles from running and to take strict action by running a campaign.
He has directed the Health Department to get geotagging of hospitals located on the national highways and roadsides and to install ambulances at those locations so that the response time is minimal and adequate number of ambulances are deployed. He has given instructions to ensure availability of ambulances and cranes at specified distances on the National Highway. He has given instructions to ensure adequate availability of doctors at community/primary health centers to deal with emergency situations.
He has asked the Assistant Divisional Transport Officer and Police Department officials to make a plan as to what improvements can be made on the blind spots. He has given instructions to take effective action to ban stunt betting. He has instructed the task force formed to stop illegal mining to take effective action to stop overloading and illegal mining. The District Magistrate has asked to issue challan to the concerned and take action for suspension of DL for driving without helmet, not using seat belt while driving four wheeler and using mobile phone while driving.
On this occasion, Chief Development Officer Harshika Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr. Manish Kumar Shandilya, Additional District Magistrate City Mr. Satyam Mishra, Executive Engineer/Secretary/Member, District Road Safety Committee – Mr. PK Rai, Mr. Vinod Chandra Dubey, President and Mr. Ramakant Rawat, General Secretary, Tempo Taxi Union and other present officers and officials of the union were present.
