Desk: In Jamui district of Bihar, Malaypur police station and STF, in a joint action, have arrested an interstate AK-47 weapon supplier. Accused Mohammad Firoz Alam, who was absconding for a long time, has been arrested from Patna. According to the police, the accused was associated with a large network of illegal arms supply in Bihar, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh and has several serious criminal cases registered against him.

The accused is a resident of Munger
The arrested accused has been identified as Mohammad Firoz Alam, father Taslim Alam, resident of Mirzapur Bardah village of Mufassil police station area of Munger district. Police say that Firoz Alam was especially active in the supply of banned weapons like AK-47. Cases related to Arms Act are already registered against him in Malaypur police station also.
Firoz was hiding in an area of Patna
Malaypur police station incharge had received secret information that the accused was hiding in an area of Patna. After confirming the information, Malaypur Police along with STF and local police made a strategy and conducted a joint raid in Patna. As per the plan, the police team laid siege and arrested the accused and later brought him to Malaypur police station.

Police was searching for a long time
In this regard, Malaypur Police Station Head Inspector Vikas Kumar said that Mohammad Firoz Alam was wanted in the AK-47 weapon supply case and the police was looking for him for a long time. He said that after completing the preliminary interrogation, the accused has been handed over to Munger Police for further legal action. Based on the interrogation of the accused, the police is now investigating the supply chain of illegal weapons, the source of weapons, the methods of purchase and sale and the role of his other associates. It is believed that this arrest has dealt a major blow to the interstate arms smuggling network.
