Inter-State Athletics C’ships 2026 Day-2: Animesh Kujur qualifies for Asian Games, NR for Sindhushree G -Highlights

Elite Indian athletes continued their pursuit of the Asian Games quota spots on the second day of the Inter-State Athletics C’ships in Odisha on Thursday.

Indian national record holders Animesh Kujur and Mohammad Afsal P breached the qualifying marks in the men’s 200m and 800m finals, while Jyothi Yarraji missed out in women’s 200m.

Krishna Jayasankar and Manpreet Kaur in women’s shot put and Sindhushree and Baranica Elongovan in women’s pole vault also earned Asiad qualification.
