Lucknow, 9 July. Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department has taken an interesting initiative towards making the tourism facilities in the state world class. Under this, Uttar Pradesh Tourism is going to operate state-of-the-art double decker food trucks in the capital Lucknow.
These food trucks will not only provide quality food to the tourists, but will also provide a unique experience of local cuisine, state-of-the-art digital technology, cultural heritage and environmental protection. With this, visitors to the tourist places of Uttar Pradesh will get such a confluence of taste, culture and technology, which will make their journey more memorable.
UPETDB will operate double decker food truck – Jaiveer Singh
Uttar Pradesh Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh said that ‘The double decker food truck will be operated by Uttar Pradesh Eco Tourism Development Board (UPETDB). Tenders have been invited for this. He said that in the first phase, there is a plan to operate these modern food trucks in Nawab Wajid Ali Shah Zoo and Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Park in Lucknow.
Will be expanded to major tourist, religious and cultural places of the state
Jaiveer Singh said that after Lucknow, considering the need and demand of tourists, it will be expanded to major tourist, religious and cultural places of the state. This initiative will not only modernize the tourism facilities in the state but will also provide better quality food to the visitors.

The Tourism Minister said, “After Lucknow got the status of ‘Creative City of Gastronomy’ from UNESCO, our responsibility has increased further. In line with this thinking, local and traditional dishes of the state will be given prominence in the menu of food trucks. Through the concept of ‘One District One Cuisine’, the specific dishes of a particular region will be made available to the tourists. Our effort is to provide fresh, nutritious and clean food to the tourists in a short time, so that the tourism experience of Uttar Pradesh is based on taste, culture and The quality can become memorable.”
Features of Double Decker Food Truck
Under the scheme, the selected agency will have the entire responsibility of designing, operating and maintaining the double decker food truck. The food truck will be equipped with modern facilities, so that it can become a new tourist attraction. It will be fully motorized, modern and conforming to all statutory standards. At the same time, Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department and Uttar Pradesh Eco Tourism Development Board will help in publicity through various mediums of communication.
The entire system will be digital and transparent
The entire system will be made digital and transparent. All sales will be through digital POS system only. AI based CCTV surveillance, UPI and card payments, QR code based customer feedback and digital monitoring systems will be mandatory. This will increase transparency and service quality can be continuously monitored.

The structure of the double decker food truck will also make it special. Solar panels will be installed on its roof, which will reduce energy consumption and promote environmental protection. The upper portion of the truck will be developed as a state-of-the-art experience center for tourists. Here, through AR and VR technology, you will get a digital experience of the historical heritage, tourist places and biodiversity of Uttar Pradesh. Its specialties will be immersive audio without headphones, LED based digital heritage gallery and comfortable eco dining lounge.
Other attractions including digital menu
The ground floor of the food truck will be developed into a fully modern commercial kitchen. In this, kitchen equipped with energy equipment, order facility and pickup counter, smart storage, special care of cleanliness will be taken. It is proposed to install large LED displays on the exterior of the truck, on which messages related to Uttar Pradesh tourism promotion, digital menu and public awareness will be broadcasted.
Packaging of food in leaf-bamboo-earthen pots
Environmental protection is one of the biggest priorities of this project. Durable, fireproof and environment friendly materials will be used in the construction of the food truck. There will be a complete ban on single use plastic. Leaf, bamboo, clay or other biodegradable materials will be used for packaging food items. Zero liquid discharge policy will be implemented for water conservation. 25 meter area around the food truck will be kept clean daily.
