International award to Sundarini, a milk cooperative organization of West Bengal.






West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said on Saturday that Sundarini, a milk cooperative based in Sundarban, has been honored by the International Dairy Federation. He said it was honored for innovative and eco-friendly farming practices at the 3rd IDF Dairy Innovation Awards held in Paris on Friday. He said that Sundarini has won this award in collaboration with National Dairy Development Board (NDDB).

Banerjee said in a post on social media platform 'X', “Happy to share another success story related to the women of Sundarbans! Our milk cooperative Sundarini (Sunderbans Cooperative Milk Union and Livestock Producers Union) and NDDB have together won a prestigious international award from the International Dairy Federation. “We have emerged victorious from 153 entries globally,” he said. Banerjee said, 'During the financial year 2023-24, the milk union generated an income of about Rs four crore for the rural women of Sundarbans. I congratulate the entrepreneurial spirit of the women members of Sundarini Doodh Sangh and our concerned officials.”
